About the Event

Calgary’s Bike to Work Day is presented by Balbi & Company Legal Centre each year to provide a fun way for you, your friends and colleagues to join in cycling to work! The Bike to Work Day event promotes cycling as a healthy, efficient, convenient, low-cost means of transport which contributes to a reduction of inner city traffic congestion and pollution.

When is Bike to Work Day?

Calgary’s fifth annual Bike to Work Day event will take place on Friday, May 6, 2011.


What Happens during Bike to Work Day?

Energy Pit Stop Stations will be set up along Calgary’s pathways and popular cycle routes during the morning of Bike to Work Day. Cyclists are invited to stop for beverages, free giveaways, bicycle tune-ups and information at these locations.

The Energy Pit Stop Stations are sponsored by bike shops around the city of Calgary. The Energy Pit Stop Stations will be open from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May. 6, 2011.  For more information on Energy Pit Stop Stations please visit the Energy Pit Stop Station page of our website.

A FREE PANCAKE BEAKFAST will also be served on the morning of the event to the first 500 Bike to Work Day participants that arrive at Eau Claire Market between 6:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.!

Do I need to register?

No, you do not need to register for Calgary’s Bike to Work Day event. Everyone is invited to participate. Bike to Work Day provides an excellent opportunity for beginner and experienced Calgary cyclists to use the city’s parks and pathways. This event is free to participate in!
